Those look exactly like the basics I was discussing all last week. So I continued to search to see if it had anything that could be worn around the house. And sure enough it did!
Wow! That's a lot of checks! The site even had a wonderful pencil skirt, but I couldn't get it to upload to Polyvore which is where I make my collages.
So can you guess where these items come from? Yes! The J. Peterman catalog! Isn't that crazy! In a million years I never would have guessed they had such wonderful retro clothing. Now, the prices are on the higher side, but almost everything is on sale. And I think it is worth it to spend money on basics you will wear year after year. So as you can see, you never know when you will run into vintage style clothing- it is just a matter of knowing the shapes you are looking for and they will appear when you least expect it.

I love getting J. Peterman's catalog : ) I can't bring myself to buy anything, but I'm in love with their shawl collar corduroy shirtwaist dress! I'm going to just have to sew it for myself!
ReplyDeleteI really like the ruffly dress and stripey shirt. These are all so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, but where can I find an actual picture of the garments? Do they exist?
ReplyDeleteNo, the J.Peterman catalogue only does renderings of their goods- no pictures!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pink blouse with the wide-legged pants at the top, so chic! (Well I love all the outfits of course, but that outfit in particular caught this breastfeeding mama's eye with the wrap top and comfy yet stylish pants!).
