Yesterday I blogged about my favorite red lipsticks. Today I thought I would show you dolls a few makeup accessories I have been drooling over. Back in the day, women had gorgeous lipstick and compact containers and they would often whip these beauties out to touch up their makeup after dinner. These days I don't find makeup containers very appealing, so I have been trolling Etsy for something that might glam up my makeup bag. Here are my top 5 favorites:
Of course the one I like the best is crazy expensive. But seriously- how beautiful is this lace etched matching lipstick and compact case?
I love this 1950s vintage lipstick and compact container. I would feel very glamorous if I used this after dinner to touch up my makeup.
This rhinestone and pearl bejeweled lipstick case with attached mirror is lovely. I especially like how small it is.
At first this looks kind of like a brooch. But upon further inspection, it actually has a mirror and attached lipstick case! How cool is that!
Here is an interesting set, because this one comes with a little comb! The top right containers contains a comb, and the bottom left container comprises of a lipstick and compact. I especially love the pearls and rhinestones on this one.
Aren't those lovely cases? And I read the trick to moving your favorite lipstick into the lipstick holder is to freeze it! Isn't that smart? And to fill the compact Vixen Vintage has a great tutorial. Do any of you kittens have a vintage lipstick and/or compact? I would love to see pictures of them if you do! Just send them to theglamoroushousewife@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteHer goal when she created the company was to bring back vintage glamor. Sadly, she doesn't sell foundations anymore, but everything else is fabulous and beautiful!
